Mina Ashiro is a beautiful young woman with waist-length black hair that is styled into a ponytail and decorated with a barrette. Under her uniform, she has a small scar on the left side of her upper chest. She usually wears the Defense Force combat suit, along with a white visor that enables her to increase her vision. In battle, she usually wields firearms and her personal cannon.
Mina is a serious and determined woman who takes her work and role in the Defense Force very seriously and she strives to uphold the promise made as a child to defeat every kaiju. Despite her professional behavior, she has a soft spot for Kafka Hibino: although she was upset with him for not keeping his promise to stand at her side, she remembers their friendship fondly and wishes to see him succeed in the Defense Force.
