Edward Newgate, more commonly known as Whitebeard, is the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates and is widely known as the 'Strongest Man in the World', a fact complimented by having the highest active bounty at one time, and the second highest bounty of any pirate in history.
Whitebeard wields a gigantic naginata called Murakumogiri, one of the 12 Supreme Grade Blades. He is immensely skilled with the blade, using it to fight off countless powerful Marines in Marineford, including Marine Admirals. During his prime, he also clashed with Kouzuki Oden who was one of the strongest samurais of Wano.
